Autumn is not yet visible, but it is on its way. Mornings are cooler, evenings grow shorter, and we remember that winter will soon call for a garment that truly protects. This is the moment, before the deep cold, to think of the coat that will last the whole season. The Heritage Parka is one of those.

This parka carries a precise memory. It is inspired by the watch jacket the house supplied to the French army, the garment worn on deck, exposed to wind, cold and sea spray. The watch is that shift kept on board, by night as by day, whatever the weather. The garment of the man who kept it had first to hold itself. This maritime lineage is not decoration: it says where the piece comes from, and what it must protect.

The fabric does the essential work. The outer cloth is a water-repellent, waterproof cotton made in France, which sheds the weather without stiffening or weighing down. Inside, a lining of extra-soft synthetic fur runs to the end of the sleeves, and an invisible ribbed cuff at the wrist holds the warmth in. Nothing scratches, nothing weighs: the fabric does the work without being noticed. The parka protects without trapping.

Every detail has its reason. The stand collar fastens with a buttoned tab that cuts the cold and the wind. The hood, adjusted by a drawcord, is removable: it stays on rainy days and comes off when the sky clears. Two large outer pockets and a large closed inner pocket hold what the hands do not want to carry.

The Heritage Parka is made for winter, in the city as in the open air. It slips over a sweater or a jacket, and carries the cold days without weighing them down, from the first chill of autumn to the deep cold of winter. Made in France, it is guaranteed for life. The house plants a tree for every purchase, a quiet way of saying that durability is also a matter of use.

Care is as simple as the piece itself. A gentle wash at low temperature is enough to preserve the texture and the colours. A parka you keep is first of all a parka you know how to care for.

You do not choose a parka the way you choose a seasonal garment. You choose it for the winters to come, for the days of hard cold and driving rain, for those mornings when the wind bites. The Heritage Parka is one of those pieces you keep year after year, because it holds, because it protects, and because it carries a know-how that is not told in vain.
